Objectives and Priorities

 SEE ICT Forum Objectives

  • A platform for communicating common messages to the governments through regional initiatives such as the eSEE/bSEE Initiatives and the Center for eGovernance Development
  • Propose specific PPP models for successful project implementation to be used by the eSEE/bSEE WG representatives on a regional or national level
  • Provide Private Sector Input to the 5 years Long-Term Strategic Program 2008-2013 and One Year Operation Plan 2009 (OYOP) of the CeGD
  • Active participation in the initiative for establishment of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) in Budapest (SEE ICT cluster initiatives already most advanced proposal) – TBC by Cisco

 SEE ICT Forum Board Immediate Priorities

  • Publishing periodical summary reports on competitiveness in the ICT sector in the SEE countries, coordinated in consultation with eSEE/bSEE representatives and taking into consideration already available relative reports (SEE Observatory, INA SEE ICT Monitoring Re view, NRA reports, SEE ICT Labor Benchmark Reports, etc. – EITO support needed!).
  • Provide access to public data to the private sector that are developing ICT content and services (e.g. roads, maps, directions, weather info for applications used when crossing borders).
  • Establish private sector National Contact Points, which are the SEE ICT Forum Board Members, at the same time acting as a Private Sector Advisory Committee of the CeGD. The NCPs will be responsible for providing links between the private sector associations and the Governments in their respective countries to be used by the ICT Forum, and for creation of PPPs and establishment of a Centers of Excellence or a Competence Centers.
  • Regional Cooperation for ICT Industry Excellence, Promotion & Branding based on the Quality :
  • Promotion of the “SEE IT” ICT Quality Certifications & Standards (CMMI, IT Mark, ITIL…)
  • Quality/quantity of human resources in the ICT sector
  • Provide content for the SEE ICT Forum Portal - www.seeictforum.org
  • Logistics? - INA Academy Submitted Proposal to the Hellenic Aid to fund some operations of the ICT Forum (partners: Western Balkan ICT Associations) Advising the SEE Center for eGovernance Development in Ljubljana
